By reconstructing theindustrial remains, could we reconcile with the past it represented, and bringour vision of what this site could be into its current life.

北京首钢工业园区始建于1919年，由民国北洋政府筹资建设，距今刚好一百年整。历史的车轮滚滚而过，历经国有化，大炼钢铁，改革开放，产业转型，08年奥运会的整体搬迁等一系列变迁后，2022年北京冬奥会的申办成功，为首钢园区的改造建设正式拉开了大幕。

Originally stablished in 1919 under the regime ofRepublic of China , Shougang industrial park has reached its 100 years. As thestorm of history propels, Shougang stood through up-and-downs duringnationalization, the great leap, economic reform and industrial transformation.Entering the new century, 2008 Beijing Olympic Games was a major push to assesspublic spaces and urban life in current context and the forthcoming 2022Beijing Winter Olympics led to another round of rethink of what this site couldmean for this ever-growing city.   

新首钢园占地8.63平方公里，是目前世界上正在进行中的最大城市更新项目。园区的大量制铁工艺相关工业遗存如原有三号高炉、冷却塔、热电厂、精煤车间等工业建构，承载着大量的在地集体记忆，它们的改造更新标志着原有园区从工业性向城市性的彻底转变。

A massive 8.63 kilo-square meters, it is the biggestsite ever going through an urban renewal. The density and scale of theindustrial remains on site, such as the blast furnace, cooling tower, powerplant etc, are equally monumental, both dimension wise and in symbolic sense.

三号高炉博物馆水下展厅及D馆空间，做为撬动整体改造的首批重要示范项目，是其中最典型的代表。

The turning of Shougang site into public space marksan important beginning, however while history progresses, it should never berewritten.

三高炉博物馆和D馆具备独一无二的工业废土美学基因，做为多维度的历史切片集合，室内设计团队在对工业遗存充分尊重的同时为其赋予新的语境，在巨大的工业空间中以叙事性的方式重构，打造出耳目一新又似曾相识的工业赛博穿越场景。

During the restoration and renovation of Blast FurnaceNO.3 and Exhibition Hall D, the original structures were carefully conserved ascultural heritages, additional under ground spaces were thoughtfully put in,views created while visitors circle in the park, each designed to represent apage of important history of Shougang.

Our vision for theunderwater exhibition hall at Blast Furnace NO.3

“钢与火的穿越重生。”----剧本大纲设定为炼钢意象与钢水奔涌的穿越场景。水下展厅位于首钢园的秀池中央，沉隐于水面之下，室内中轴线由水下展厅，甬道和功勋柱组成。水下展厅空间主体是清水混凝土的大构建，中心点是圆形天井，与通透的中庭形成质感上的强烈对比。

Ironand fire. Our vision for the under water exhibition hall at Blast Furnace NO.3translates the imagery of molten iron runs through the furnace, while in thisscenario, a continuous run of red led light cutting though the space,connecting the center of the glass embraced atrium to the Pillar of Meritoriouswith a strong sense of direction. The body of exhibition hall was built withcast concrete and enclosure forming an passage around it was cladded withcoarsely textured cement panels.

‘Imaginebeing a piece of iron ore’

D馆是进入三高炉本体前的序厅空间，建筑设计为此赋予了一系列具有工业感的外立面钢结构及精密节点。室内设计团队在这个连续的上升空间里，用接近钢材原石的色彩和材质继续加强整体的体量感。钢楼梯由地面交错延伸到高炉底部的空间，路径曲折，蜿蜒而上，形成更强的时间递进感。

钢楼梯底部用灯光和钢构制造悬浮感，坡面铺满铁矿石，剧本大纲的设定正在于此----”如果你也是一颗被运往高炉的小矿石。“

Exhibitionhall D is a preface to the blast furnace No.3. CCTN architects designedan ascending curved enclosure attached to furnace, supercloud, the interior teamput an angled staircase climbing up in zigzag. Lumia, the lighting designersintegrated warm light under and within the staircase to make it light andfloating.
