福州自有“其大十围，凌冬不凋，郡中独盛，故号榕城”。项目地处福州东二环板块，南邻福州南站，交通便利，区域发展潜力大。设计红线内有9棵挂牌保护古榕树、古宋井群遗址及象山遗址。毫无疑问，它们值得保留。不仅是为了延续场地历史与人文记忆，同时也是向城市居民展现自然厚重而慷慨的一面。国家历史文化名城的缩影在这个场地淋漓展现。设计团队来到项目现场惊于现场古榕树的茂盛高大及攀枝错节，遗址杂乱掩盖，场地内地形复杂，南北高差近8m，东西高差5m，板块割裂，于此也感受到场地的文化与历史的厚重痕迹。

Fuzhou has its own "big ten walls, which do not wither in the winter, and are the only prosperous in the county, so it is called Rongcheng". 设计的核心与难点在于，如何打破原有错综复杂的古树空间、大尺寸的高差变化，梳理出合理的动线及开放通透的场地；又如何在更新中延续并保护原有空间特点及底蕴让人参与其中，满足不同年龄段的活动需求及与现代社区的融合。劳里 · 欧林（Laurie D.Olin）在景观设计中强调了 “移动” 与“调整” ，而不是 “堆砌” 或 “焕新”。设计不是在场地上不断堆叠某些东西，而是通过调试路径、地形，以及树木和水域等各种元素，塑造更优的环境和空间供人使用。如何唤起场地的旧的回忆和新的生命，旧与新的场景链接，是我们最关注的设计根源。

我们提出“与场地共融，激活时光故事”作为整体策略，经过专业团队对保护古榕树的养护，修剪，设计团队前期展开了缜密的现状古榕梳理，力求让每一棵形态饱满的树都有所展示，并更好的保护下来。修缮古迹，使人参与其中，感受空间，让每一处空间都具有可参与性。通过场地的梳理开放空间的问题逐渐明朗，通行道路通过古榕的位置曲折中成形，串联起功能。三维视角及栈道打破高差带来的空间界线，把复杂空间边界连接，融为一体。

After the maintenance and pruning of the ancient banyan tree by the professional team, the design team carried out a meticulous sorting out of the current ancient banyan tree in the early stage, and strived to make every tree full of shape. 作为文化城市的新兴热土，场地承载这个城市生长的印记，并且为人们提供了可以更新生长的生活方式。以“现代巢居生活”，唤起场地的精神内核，即场地与人的记忆，唤醒关于小时候、榕树下、光隙间、奶奶讲的故事还有专属于你这座城市的记忆。我们想根植文化，柔化高差，让记忆回归生活，将古榕树、宋井以新的姿态苏醒，不断生长，在历史印记中享受新生活。打造真正的“居公园”的理想生活。碰撞与交融作为整个设计的驱动，“左园右院”，历史文化与现代社区碰撞融合、自然与生活和谐平衡，旧与新的碰撞抵达场地的精神内核。
