沙吞（Sathorn）55号房屋是汇集多年设计经验、材料使用和细节施工经验，最终完成的设计作品。该设计代表了其所有者以及建筑师的反思。设计目标是在曼谷繁华的中心地带建造一座简单的三居室房屋。沙吞是一个充满活力的商业与文化区，位于曼谷市中心。该街区由狭窄的小巷和低层联排别墅组成，其独特性是设计考虑的组成部分。

55Sathorn house is the culmination of years of experience in design, use ofmaterials, and dedication to fine construction details.  The designrepresents a reflection upon its owner, who is also the architect. The goal wasto create a simple three-bedroom house in the bustling center of Bangkok.Sathorn is a vibrant business and cultural district located in the heart ofBangkok. The neighborhood's distinctive identities comprised of narrow sidestreets and low-rise townhomes are integral parts of the design consideration.

设计中面临的挑战是建筑面积限制。建筑形式和材料上的强烈表达一眼就可以看出。重型现浇混凝土似乎被狭窄的缝隙切开，从而实现居住功能。一条灯带分割并雕刻出混凝土结构，形成内部垂直庭院。混凝土做成丝带形式，轻盈地漂浮，显露并标记出屋顶庭院。锋利的边缘和圆角立面接纳并尊重风雨这类自然元素。两个房屋体量上的分离从南向产生了内部风洞效应。

Thechallenge was the limitation in the size of the construction area.  Astrong statement in both form and material can be visible at firstglance.  Heavy pour-in-place concrete seems to be sliced open by narrowgab-making ways for inhabitable functions.  A strip of light cuts andcarves out the concrete structure creating an internal vertical courtyardarrangement.  Ribbons of concrete float weightlessly to reveal and markthe rooftop courtyard.  Sharp edges and rounded corners elevations allowand respect natural elements such as rain and the wind. Volumetric separationof the two house masses creates an internal wind tunnel effect from the southdirection.

最初的任务是通过半透明的垂直钢楼梯建立一个布局良好相互连接五层结构。客厅和中央厨房都有大落地窗。三间卧室共用一个内部庭院，但各自保留了隐私。为实现功能性存储空间定制了内置橱柜。每个立面都代表了对房屋内部的独特视角。从一楼移动到屋顶花园时，可以体验空间、庭院、楼梯和光线的巧妙安排。

Theinitial task was to develop a well-organized five stories structureinterconnect via a translucent vertical steel staircase. The living room andcentral kitchen both have large floor-to-ceiling windows opening.  Allthree bedrooms share an internal courtyard but retain their privacy. Customize built-in cabinets for functional storage spaces.  Each elevationrepresents a unique perspective into the inner working of the house.  Youcan experience the playful arrangement of space, courtyard, stairs, and lightas you move from the first floor to the roof garden.

Strategicplacement of large windows and openings is used to choreograph the amount of sunlight,filtered light, and reflected light throughout the house at different hours.Visitors can appreciate the attention to detail in the way materials cometogether and align perfectly to serve a purpose. Natural wood, concrete masonrywall, steel, glass, and natural stones are integral parts of the completepalette. 55 Sathorn house represents stability, tranquility, comfort, andcalmness for the owners.
